The Word 2007 integration is interesting. Ages ago I saw a Microsoft guy demo its capacity as a blog post editor, creating clean HTML. I took that with a grain of salt, but if true it has to be an improvement on futzing around with the WordPress “WYSINotWYG” editor.

I’ve had almost the same situation. I have a veryyyyy short hair. I’ve walked thru the store for about 30 mins and when I was heading to the exit, they stopped my without a good reason and started to goin’ thru my stuff me, like I was a thief.

I was angry because that electronic gate haven’t beeped at all, so why did they stop me?

I’m sure they think when someone is bold and tall, ain’t handsome and have a rucksack is a bully or whatever.

I’d like to have something cleared up. Specifically, has anyone out there who’s MyBook has suffered “clicks-of-death” been successful in recovering data by opening the enclosure and connecting the drive internally; or will this method only work with drives that are not clicking?

Also, if anyone has taken in a clicking MyBook for professional data recovery, how successful were they in getting their data back?

I’ve got a clicking MyBook—with a few 100 gigs of stuff trapped on it—just sitting on the self. It’s time I decided what to do with it.

I bought 4 of these to use for video production and they make me want to kill myself. I am trying to take advantage of the eSata connection, but if I stop working just long enough to get a snack, when I come back the drive has entered a “green power saving” mode and to get it to wake up, my computer completely freezes for 10 seconds, then my monitor connection and internet connection disconnects turning my screen black and knocking my network offline. It’s awesome. I’ve even written them a letter complaining and they didn’t even bother responding. Don’t even get me started on having to hold the power button in for 10 seconds to power these pieces of crap down.

To Chav Chavette. Hi I have been a regular user of facebook for the last nine months. I have used it to meet interesting people around the world and catch up with some old friends. I have been using it because I have been off work waiting for a back operation which I am now recovering from. Not because I am a class 4 person.
I hate to think that Middle Class Education is teaching it pupils that there are different standards of human beings.

I frequent a few sites which use OpenID (Ma.gnolia, PBWiki, and zooomr, for example - there is a comprehensive list at https://www.myopenid.com/directory)

But your point is well taken, not enough sites have implemented OpenID. Yet.

Keep agitating for change. Or it will never happen!

Still waiting for the big uptick in sites accepting OpenID logins. Remember DIGG announced it in March 2007! I predicted it’d be huge in June 2006. Still waiting.

So apart from Plaxo and a niche site like Ma.gnolia.com, what other sites that you visit regularly are using it for login?

There is a big mindshift for people to use OpenID instead of a normal login. I still find the whole re-direct thing as annoying as hell. Maybe something like ClickPass will help things, maybe.

My Live One Care story is a very sad one.To be very brief, my problem with the installation started on February 25 2008 and, after being bounced like a yo-yo between the China (or Taiwan) and India Support Offices I ended up with a continuously restarting system.I had given them control of my computer!
I had to take my system to a professional for repairs. It cost me $150 and I want to claim this from Microsoft. My question: to whom should I write?

Wow, this is, actually, no joke at all. It always gets tricky on airports, I was working for a cruise line for 4 years, and done maybe a couple of hundreds of flights. Sometimes one could get stuck with no apparent reason, and sometimes things like this are possible.

There is certainly something strange going on about the fonts. The size of the font in Firefox on OS X is Massive!
