The Google Earth blog notes that there has been a significant update to Google Earth and Google Maps images.
On checking Cork, I found that it has been significantly updated with recent high-res images. However, Rushbrook, where I am based, is still only available in low-res. In this screen you can see Rushbrook is on the West side of Great Island and just to the right of where the high-res image ends!

its hi res all the way to Limerick - pretty sure that wasnt the case before.
And good old Waterford is still good old Waterford, zero detail.
Yay. Blarney has been updated. The estate up the road from me is no longer a building site!
West Cork still a joke. At least they now know Bandon exists and that the road to it is not called “Harbour Hopping in West Cork” (which is how they previously labelled it!).
The new data is only 2-3 weeks old apparently.

Does anyone use google earth images as ground image planes for use in aerial scenes. I know how to stitch them together but are there any tools or tricks to make sure that the images are at the same height, angle and such to make sure they stitch well. I know in the pro version you can get bigger images but im not going to pay for the pro version when i could stitch multiple images together…
