A couple of things, I think you left your comment on the wrong post, your comment is more appropriate to my post on the websites of the Fianna Fail candidates, than one on standards compliant websites.

Thanks, Tom. Bit busy with the oul elections and so on. I'll leave it up to yourself re where to leave the postings.

BTW, did I meet your dad one time out in Strasbourg or Brussels? I came across a Tom Raftery who was an FG MEP...

Pat,

A couple of things, I think you left your comment on the wrong post, your comment is more appropriate to my post on the websites of the Fianna Fail candidates, than one on standards compliant websites. If you want to leave the comment again on the correct post I will delete it off this one.

Another thing - you left the web address of your site as http://www.patwabbitte.org/ - unfortunately this doesn't appear to be a valid web site address.

You didn't give me web site addresses of your candidates Dominic and Paddy so I could have a look at them.

In any case, I was really comenting on their sites because of the complete lack of understanding of the technology behind blogging displayed by whoever was responsible for their sites and because they appeared to be trying to cash in on the positive media blogging is receiving of late.

In the case of your own candidates, they really should get blogs up - it is not technically difficult to do, and it would confer considerable advantages on them - esp. seeing as none of their competition has a blog!

Tom, what's your comment on the other candidates' web sites? e.g. my own Dominic Hannigan in Meath and Paddy McCormack in Kildare? You will note that we don't have blogs either. Also, have you seen the really awful web sites put up by the FG and PD candidates. Internet circa 1995, I'd say.

What about the Shinners? Are you chicken to look at theirs and comment negatively? Weeeeellll, you're OK! Cos, they don't even have candidate web sites. Hard to type a keyboard with a ballot box in one hand and an Armalite in the other, I suppose.
